Extension of special campaign for faster issuance of EODCs

Extension of special campaign for faster issuance of EODCs

Extension of special campaign for faster issuance of Export Obligation Discharge Certificates (EODCs) under the Advance Authorisation (AA) and EPCG Schemes up to 31 May 2026.

All members of trade and industry, Export Promotion Councils/Commodity Boards, Regional Authorities of DGFT, and holders of authorisations issued under the Advance Authorisation (AA) and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) schemes are informed about the special initiative undertaken by DGFT during 1 March 2026 to 31 March 2026 for quicker disposal of pending cases related to Export Obligation Discharge Certificates (EODCs).

1. Progress during the Special Drive

During the above period, DGFT Regional Authorities issued 11,791 EODCs (up to 28 March 2026), including:

  • 7,518 EODCs under the Advance Authorisation scheme
  • 4,273 EODCs under the EPCG scheme

This initiative significantly reduced the backlog of pending EODC applications.

2. Extension of the Drive

In order to continue the progress achieved in March 2026, the special drive has now been extended from 01 April 2026 to 31 May 2026.

3. Focus Areas of the Extended Drive

The extended campaign will particularly focus on:

  • Long-pending EODC applications
  • Applications that have remained incomplete for extended periods
  • Cases pending closure due to non-submission of documents or clarifications by the authorisation holder

4. Advisory to Authorisation Holders

Exporters and authorisation holders are encouraged to take advantage of this extended initiative and cooperate with the concerned DGFT Regional Authorities by:

  • Checking the current status of their pending EODC applications
  • Submitting any outstanding documents or explanations promptly
  • Responding to deficiency letters within the stipulated timelines
  • Participating in facilitation meetings or Jan Sunwai sessions organised by the Regional Authorities for resolution of pending cases

5. Expected Outcome

The extension of the special drive is intended to support timely closure of old AA and EPCG authorisations and reduce compliance burdens on exporters. Issuance of EODCs will also facilitate subsequent procedures at the Customs authorities, including redemption of bonds and release of bank guarantees wherever applicable.

6. Instructions to Regional Authorities

DGFT Regional Authorities have been instructed to follow an age-based clearance approach, giving priority to the oldest pending cases during this extended campaign.

7. Reporting Issues

Any difficulties in implementing this Trade Notice may be communicated to the respective Regional Authority of DGFT or to the DGFT Headquarters.
