The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated its 73rd Annual Function today on February 7, 2023. Chief Guest Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture inaugurated the function in the presence of CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, President, ICAI; CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, Vice-President, ICAI and Central Council Members, ICAI. The function witnessed the presence of more than 1500 members and stakeholders from across the globe. CA. (Dr.) Jai Kumar Batra, Secretary, ICAI welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. Addressing the audience Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, said “For the smooth execution of GST in the country ICAI has played a vital role.” He also said that ICAI should also participate enthusiastically in G20 and SCO summit and the efforts of Chartered Accountancy fraternity in economic development should be showcased at International platform too. Hon’ble Minister also praised the “WE CARE” initiative that the Institute had initiated to establish contact and communication with senior members of the profession who are past age of 75 years for their welfare. |

Hon’ble Minister also added Liberty, Equality and Fraternity are the three main pillars of our Constitution and Fraternity is vital aspect. “I am glad that ICAI is very well taking these words meticulously and diligently and have created an esteemed close nit fraternity not only in India but also abroad.” The Institute has played a key role in making of a robust Indian corporate sector and its glorious prominence on the global horizons. Since its inception, it has emerged as the Regulator and developer of trusted and independent professional world class competencies in the areas of Accounting, Assurance, Taxation, Finance, Business Advisory Services and alike. During the Presidential address CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, President, ICAI stated “After successfully conducting World Congress of Accountants we are ready to host G20 and assure that we will put all our efforts to make it a grand success as for us the Nation is always first. ICAI has always worked on the lines People, Planet and Profit and we will take forward the legacy forward. Taking lead and with the support of Council Members for the first time we announced results of the intermediate and finals exams on the same day.” He told that for unified commerce education ICAI is currently working with UGC to become the leading educational body in India. While delivering Vote of thanks, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, Vice-President, ICAI said that we are thankful to Hon’ble Minister to attend the program and to the President for his continuous support. “We were able to conduct MSME Yatra across 75 cities, Registration in Asian Book of Record for Mega Career Counselling Programmes for students, First ever placement program for women CAs. We will keep working hard and thankful to everyone for their support” said CA. Aniket Sunil Talati. The Institute has recently started “ICAI Call Sahayata” initiative to resolve the queries of students, members and stakeholders from across the globe and has already settled more than 75,000 queries. During the function awards were distributed to Rank Holders of CA Examinations under various categories. Regional Council, Branches & Overseas Chapters of ICAI were also Awarded under various categories.
