MCA Portal Downtime on 15 February 2026: What Businesses Need to Know

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has announced a major administrative restructuring that will impact how companies and LLPs are mapped to Registrars of Companies (ROCs) and Regional Directors (RDs) across India. As part of this transition, the MCA portal will remain unavailable on 15 February 2026 for a full 24 hours.

This temporary shutdown is aimed at enabling a smooth rollout of the new jurisdiction structure, which becomes effective from 16 February 2026.

Why Is MCA Restructuring ROCs and RDs?

India has seen rapid growth in company and LLP registrations in recent years. To improve administrative efficiency, reduce processing delays, and ensure better regional management, MCA is redistributing jurisdictions among ROCs and RDs.

This change is largely operational but has compliance implications for businesses.

How ROC Jurisdictions Are Changing

Several existing ROC jurisdictions will be split or reassigned:

Delhi Jurisdiction

  • Haryana-registered entities will shift to a newly designated ROC Haryana
  • Others will be divided between ROC Delhi I and Delhi II based on district and PIN code

Uttar Pradesh

  • Entities under ROC Kanpur will be allocated between ROC Uttar Pradesh I and II

Maharashtra

  • Current ROC Mumbai entities will be distributed among ROC Mumbai I, Mumbai II, and ROC Nagpur

Eastern Region

  • Entities under ROC Kolkata will be divided between ROC Kolkata I, Kolkata II, and ROC Nagpur

Foreign Companies

  • All foreign companies operating in India will move from ROC Delhi to ROC Delhi I

Compliance Tip for Companies & LLPs: Businesses with filings or resubmissions due on 15 February 2026 should complete them before the downtime. Missing this window could delay filings or create compliance complications.

Where to Find Official Notifications: MCA has already released formal notifications (dated 23 October 2025). These are available under the “Act & Rules – Notifications” section on the MCA website.

Final Takeaway: While this is an administrative update, it reflects MCA’s move toward better governance and faster processing. For businesses, the key is simple:

✔ Track your jurisdiction
✔ File forms early if deadlines fall near 15 Feb
✔ Stay updated on your new ROC mapping

A little preparation now can prevent compliance headaches later.
