New SION Notification for Acetyl Salicylic Acid Tablets
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced a new Standard Input Output Norm (SION) under the Chemical and Allied Products group. This update comes under the powers granted by paragraph 1.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023.
What’s New?
A fresh entry has been added as SION No. A-3695 for the export product:
- Export Product: Acetyl Salicylic Acid 75 mg Film-Coated Tablets
- Quantity: 1 tablet
For this export, the following import is permitted:
- Import Item: Acetyl Salicylic Acid (76.50 mg per tablet)
Why is This Important?
Until now, applications for such products required a case-by-case approval by the Norms Committee. With this new SION in place:
- Regional Authorities (RAs) can directly issue Advance Authorisations.
- Exporters will experience faster approvals and reduced procedural delays.
- A uniform standard is now established for the export of this specific pharmaceutical product.
Effect of the Public Notice: This notification is a step toward ease of doing business for pharma exporters. By standardising the input-output ratio, DGFT ensures greater efficiency, quicker clearances, and better predictability for stakeholders.
