Revision of Active SIONs pertaining to food items
The DGFT has observed that some of the existing Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) related to food products are ambiguous. Issues include:
- Use of generic descriptions for certain inputs.
- Unclear specifications of alternative input quantities.
Such ambiguities could lead to misinterpretation or misuse of norms.
Therefore, the Norms Committee-6 (NC-VI) has decided to conduct a comprehensive review of specific SIONs (E-1, E-4, E-5, E-7, E-38, E-46, E-75, E-76, E-77, E-100, E-101, E-102, E-127, E-132, E-133) along with the related General Notes.
Exporters, importers, industry associations, and other stakeholders are invited to provide comments, suggestions, or feedback regarding the revision.
