Temporary Support Measures for Exporters Amid Disruptions in Gulf & West Asia Shipping Routes

The Central Government, in exercise of its powers under Sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with relevant provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023 (as amended), has introduced a special support mechanism for exporters.
Under this initiative, a time-bound scheme titled “Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation (RELIEF)” has been launched as part of the Export Promotion Mission (EPM). The detailed framework of the scheme is provided in the annexure to the notification.
Impact:
This measure aims to assist Indian exporters in managing heightened risks and logistical challenges arising due to ongoing geopolitical disturbances affecting the Gulf and West Asia maritime trade routes. The scheme will be implemented through the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC), providing necessary risk coverage and support during this period.
