Feedback on Proposed Updates to Export Policy Schedule

DGFT Seeks Stakeholder Feedback on Proposed Updates to Export Policy Schedule of ITC (HS) 2022

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has initiated the process of updating Schedule-II (Export Policy) of ITC (HS) 2022 to reflect the modifications introduced through the Finance Act, 2026.

The Finance Act, 2026 has brought several revisions to the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, including changes to Harmonized System (HS) Codes, product descriptions, and chapter notes. To ensure consistency between the customs tariff framework and export policy provisions, corresponding amendments are proposed in Schedule-II of ITC (HS) 2022.

In accordance with Para 1.07A of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, which encourages stakeholder consultation in policy formulation and revision, DGFT has circulated the proposed amendments relating to Chapter Notes as well as changes in HS Codes and product descriptions through annexures attached to the Trade Notice.

DGFT has invited comments, suggestions, and recommendations from exporters, trade bodies, industry associations, professionals, and other interested stakeholders on the proposed revisions. Stakeholders are requested to submit their feedback within seven days from the date of issuance of the Trade Notice.

Comments and suggestions may be sent electronically to export-dgft@nic.in for consideration during the finalisation of the amendments.

The Trade Notice has been issued with the approval of the Competent Authority under the provisions of Para 1.07A of FTP 2023.
