Due date to file Form 64A and 64E preponed to 15th June 2025

Due date to file Form 64A and 64E for AY 2025-26 has been preponed to 15th June 2025.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), through Notification No. 17/2025 issued on February 24, 2025, has amended Rule 12CA and Rule 12CC of the Income-tax Rules, 1962, to advance the due date for filing Form 64A and Form 64E for the Assessment Year (AY) 2025-26. Previously set at November 30 of the following Financial Year, the new deadline for business trusts and securitisation trusts to submit these forms is now June 15, 2025.
Form 64A pertains to the statement of income distributed by business trusts, while Form 64E relates to the statement of income distributed by securitisation trusts, as mandated under the Income-tax Act, 1961. This change aims to streamline tax compliance and align the reporting timeline with other statutory filing requirements. Affected trusts must ensure compliance with the revised deadline to avoid penalties or procedural lapses. For further details, refer to the official notification on the CBDT website or consult a tax professional.
