Government Extends GSTAT appeal filing deadline to 31 July 2026

Government Extends GSTAT Appeal Filing Deadline to 31 July 2026
The Central Government has extended the last date for filing appeals before the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) to 31 July 2026 under the provisions of Section 112(1) read with Section 112(3) of the CGST Act.
Previously, a notification issued on 17 September 2025 had prescribed 30 June 2026 as the deadline for filing such appeals.
The extension has been granted following requests from taxpayers and other stakeholders who reported technical issues on the GSTAT portal due to a significant increase in filing activity. A substantial number of appeals were submitted during the final days before the original deadline, resulting in heavy portal traffic.
Taxpayers intending to file appeals are encouraged to complete the process well before the revised due date to avoid last-minute technical difficulties and ensure smooth submission.
