ICAI Organizes the Nationwide Tax Clinics
As a partner in Nation Building, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) with the Publication support of the Income Tax Department (PR,P&P) organised Tax Clinics nationwide on 13th and 14th of July, 2023.

The Tax Clinics aimed at creating awareness and resolving queries of taxpayers pertaining to filing of their income tax returns. Tax Clinics is a step taken by ICAI towards make financially aware, tax compliant & empowered India by creating awareness about tax compliances w.r.t filing of return of income amongst the taxpayers & common man. ICAI has been an integral part of the Indian financial landscape for the last 75 years. This year ICAI is celebrating its 75th year of existence under the banner “75 Years of Trust.. | ७५ साल विश्वास के..” ICAI keenly desires that all Indians should be financially literate in line with the national mission of the Government of India on Financial Literacy or Vitiya Shaksharta which is also one of the most important sustainable development goals promoted by the G-20 nations. ICAI has continually collaborated with the Government to advance goals of general interest and has taken up a very
important initiative in the form of Finance and Tax literacy Drive. ICAI also celebrates ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to further Strengthen Financial and Tax Literacy Education in the country support Sustainable Ecosystem in India.
ICAI, through its network of 168 branches and 5 Regional Councils of ICAI organised these Tax Clinics particularly to resolve the queries of those taxpayers who are required to file their Income tax return by July 31, 2023. Overwhelming response was received at more than 100 Centres from the taxpayers. Various dignitaries inaugurated and addressed these Tax Clinics and this initiative of ICAI was widely appreciated by the common taxpayers. ICAI aimed to bridge the knowledge gap and ensure a smoother tax filing experience for individuals and businesses alike.
Tax Experts available during the entire day at ICAI Bhawans across India addressed queries and provided guidance on income tax return filing. The Tax Clinics not only assisted taxpayers in understanding intricacies of law but also raised awareness among the public regarding the importance of filing income tax returns and increase tax-payers base of the Country.
ICAI emphasized the significance of filing returns well in advance to avoid last-minute complications and encourages taxpayers to disclose all taxable income. Participants expressed their gratitude for the invaluable insights gained and the increased confidence they felt in managing their tax obligations effectively. The initiative successfully fostered a sense of financial literacy and responsibility among taxpayers. Numerous chartered accountants selflessly volunteered their time and expertise to make this initiative a resounding success.
