India–Oman CEPA eCoO filing on trade connect from June 1, 2026

Online Filing and Issuance of Preferential Certificate of Origin (CoO) under the India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (India–Oman CEPA) effective from June 01, 2026 – Trade Notice No. 06/2026-27

  1. Exporters and stakeholders are informed that with the implementation of the India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (India–Oman CEPA) from June 01, 2026, the issuance of Preferential Certificates of Origin (CoO) for exports to Oman will be facilitated through the Trade Connect ePlatform (www.trade.gov.in). The platform functions as a centralized digital system for filing and issuance of electronic Certificates of Origin (eCoO) for Indian exports.
  2. In accordance with the provisions of the India–Oman CEPA, electronic Certificates of Origin will be issued through the “Certificate of Origin” service available on the Trade Connect ePlatform by designated authorised agencies.
  3. The following operational points relating to issuance of Preferential eCoO under the India–Oman CEPA may be noted:
    i. Applicants shall select the agreement option titled “India Oman CEPA (Agency Issued)” while submitting the application.
    ii. The platform will provide a list of authorised issuing agencies notified under the agreement for applicant selection.
    iii. Upon successful submission and approval of the application by the authorised agency, the system will generate an electronic Certificate of Origin containing a QR code and digital signature.
    iv. The downloadable electronic copy of the CoO will include the issuing officer’s signature image along with the official stamp of the issuing agency for use by exporters.
  4. The following general guidelines are applicable to all IEC holders and related users/applicants:
    i. Existing login credentials used for the DGFT portal (www.dgft.gov.in) may also be utilised for accessing the Trade Connect ePlatform without requiring fresh registration.
    ii. Additional user accounts linked to the same IEC may be created through DSC authentication on the DGFT portal, and such credentials may also be used for eCoO-related activities on the Trade Connect platform.
    iii. Information regarding accepted Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) and the procedure for linking DSC with IEC is available on the DGFT portal under the “Learn” section → “Application Help and FAQs” → “IEC Profile Management”.
    iv. Users should ensure that the name appearing in their DGFT/Trade Connect profile exactly matches the name mentioned in the linked DSC.
    v. IEC holders are advised to keep their IEC-related information updated on the DGFT system to ensure accurate details are reflected during eCoO application filing.

Verification Procedure

  1. Authorities or agencies seeking to verify the authenticity of a Certificate of Origin may access the verification facility available on the Trade Connect ePlatform under:
    “Certificate of Origin” → “Verify Certificate”.

By entering the relevant CoO number, the system will display the details of the certificate issued through the platform for verification purposes.
