Notice to extend the provisions of Employees’ State Insurance Act to the classes of establishments specified in the schedule- NOTIFICATION
MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT
S.O. 2167 (E)—In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (5) of Section 1 of the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948, the Government of India, Ministry of Labour and Employment in consultation with the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation hereby gives notice of its intention to extend the provisions of the Act to the classes of establishments specified in the schedule annexed thereto, on or after one month from the date of publication in the official gazette.
- Any objection or suggestion, which may be received from any person in respect of the said notification within the period specified above, will be considered by the Central Government.
- The objections and suggestions, if any, may be addressed to Shri Madan Chaurasia, Under Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Shram Shakti Bhawan, Rafi Marg, New Delhi 110001 ([email protected]).

The establishments whereon ten or more persons are employed or were employed on any day of the preceding twelve months, namely :- Municipal Corporations/ Council, established under Central/ State legislation. | All the areas in the National Capital Territory of Delhi where Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 has already been brought into force under Sub-Section (3) of Section 1 of the Act | All casual & contractual employees. |
