Announcement: Observer Empanelment – September 2025 Examinations
The Institute invites applications from eligible members for empanelment as Observers for the upcoming Chartered Accountants Examinations scheduled as follows:
📅 Examination Schedule:
- Final & Intermediate: 3rd to 15th September 2025 (except 5th September)
- Foundation: 16th, 18th, 20th & 22nd September 2025
As per the decision of the Examination Committee (648th Meeting dated 8–9 May 2024), a cooling-off period of one attempt is mandatory after completing three consecutive examination attempts as an Observer.
✅ Eligibility Criteria:
Members must fulfill all the following conditions:
- Age Limit: Not more than 65 years as on 14th July 2025.
- Membership Status: Name must be on the Register of Members as on 1st March 2023, and active thereafter.
- No Conflict of Interest: Neither the member nor any relative/dependent is appearing for CA Foundation, Intermediate, or Final exams (India or Abroad) in September 2025.
Relatives/Dependents include: spouse, children, siblings, in-laws, and other close family members. - Not Engaged in Coaching: Should not be involved in coaching for any ICAI exam in any institution, including ICAI Branches or private academies.
- Clean Disciplinary Record: Must not be facing or have been convicted in any disciplinary or legal proceedings.
- No ICAI Office Bearer Role: Should not be serving as an elected/co-opted member of any Council, Regional Council, or Branch Committee of ICAI.
- Compliance: Must agree to strictly follow ICAI Observer Guidelines and any further instructions.
💰 Honorarium:
- ₹ 3,750/- per day/session
- Conveyance Reimbursement:
- ₹ 500/- for ‘A’ Class Cities
- ₹ 400/- for other cities
‘A’ Class Cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi/New Delhi, Hyderabad/Secunderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata/Howrah, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune.
📌 Observer Duties:
- Collect sealed Question Paper Packets from designated bank branches.
- Remain present from code-key opening at the bank to the end of the exam (including handing over packed answer books to couriers).
- Daily reporting through the portal in prescribed format.
- Submission of bill and report post exam.
Non-performance or false declaration will lead to disciplinary action under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949.

- Self-selection of assignments: Last week of August 2025 (Tentative)
Note: Assignment will be provided only in the city of your registered professional address. Kindly ensure your address is up to date on the SSP portal.

Examinations will be held in various cities across India, including multiple zones within metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, etc.
