Allocation of 8606 MTRV of Raw Cane Sugar for Export to the USA under Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) Scheme for US FY 2026
In accordance with the powers vested under Paragraph 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the allocation of 8606 MTRV of raw cane sugar for export to the United States of America under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) scheme for the US Fiscal Year 2026, covering the period from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026.
- As specified under Notification No. 3/2015-20 dated 20 April 2015, export of sugar falling under HS Code 17010000 to the USA and European Union under the TRQ arrangement shall remain “Free”, subject to compliance with the conditions mentioned under the “Nature of Restrictions” in the said notification.
- Wherever applicable, the Certificate of Origin for preferential export of sugar to the USA shall be issued by the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade, Mumbai, based on recommendations provided by the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) regarding the eligible exporter and approved quantity. Any additional certification requirements prescribed specifically for sugar exports to the USA shall continue to apply.
- APEDA, New Delhi shall function as the designated implementing agency for administration and operation of the TRQ allocation for exports to the USA.
- The reporting obligations prescribed under Notification No. 3/2015-2020 dated 20 April 2015 read with Notification No. 20 dated 07 September 2015 shall continue to be applicable.
Effect of this Public Notice:
A total quantity of 8606 MTRV of raw cane sugar has been allocated for export to the USA under the TRQ scheme for the period from 01.10.2025 to 30.09.2026.
