Amendment in Import Policy and Policy Conditions for Penicillins and its Salts, 6-APA, and Amoxicillin and its Salts under ITC (HS) Chapter 29
S.O. (E): In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amends the Import Policy and Policy Conditions against the following ITC (HS) Codes under Schedule-I (Import Policy) of ITC (HS) 2022:

2. Validity of Restriction
The above restrictions shall come into immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of one year from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette of India.
Effect of the Notification
Import of the following items having CIF value below the specified Minimum Import Price shall be Restricted for a period of one year from the date of publication of this notification:
- Penicillin G-Potassium (PEN-G) under ITC (HS) 29411010 — INR 2,216 per kg
- 6-APA under ITC (HS) 29411050 — INR 3,405 per kg
- Amoxicillin Trihydrate under ITC (HS) 29411030 — INR 2,733 per kg
However, these restrictions shall not apply to imports by 100% EOUs, SEZ units, and imports under the Advance Authorization Scheme, subject to the condition that the imported inputs are not sold into the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA).
