Government Updates RoDTEP Schedule from 1 May 2026

Government Updates RoDTEP Schedule from 1 May 2026

The Central Government has revised the RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) schedule to match recent changes made in the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 through the Finance Act (No. 3 of 2026). These changes are effective from 1 May 2026.

Key Changes in RoDTEP Schedule: To align the export benefit structure with the updated customs tariff classification, the following amendments have been made in Appendix 4R and Appendix 4RE:

  • 142 tariff lines at the 8-digit HS code level have been newly added.
  • 50 tariff lines at the 8-digit HS code level have been removed.
  • Descriptions of 2 tariff lines have been revised.

Where to Check Updated Rates: Exporters can view the complete list of updated HS Codes, RoDTEP rates, and value caps on the official DGFT portal under the RoDTEP section.

What This Means for Exporters: These changes ensure that the RoDTEP benefit schedule remains consistent with the latest customs tariff structure. Exporters should review the updated codes carefully to confirm whether their products:

  • Continue to remain eligible
  • Have been newly included
  • Have been removed
  • Carry revised descriptions or benefit rates

Effective Date: All revised provisions apply from 1 May 2026.

Conclusion

Businesses involved in exports should immediately verify their product classifications and applicable RoDTEP benefits to avoid claim errors and ensure proper incentive calculation under the updated schedule.
