ICAI signs MoU with School Education Department, Mizoram, Government of Mizoram for promoting Commerce Education
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) through its Committee on Career Counselling and with the support of Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of ICAI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 19th August, 2022 with School Education Department, Mizoram, Government of Mizoram for promoting Commerce Education amongst Government and Government aided Secondary and Higher / Senior Secondary school students.
This MOU has been signed for a period of 5 years. The Outreach meeting was also organised with the Principals and Headmasters of High Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools in Mizoram. The Chief Guest of the programme was Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, IAS , Secretary, School Education, Mizoram. The ICAI was represented by CA. Hans Raj Chugh, Chairman Committee on Career Counselling, CA. Purushottam Khandelwal, Vice-Chairman, Committee on Career Counselling, CA. Ravi Kumar Patwa, Chairman EIRC, and CA. (Dr.) Jai Kumar Batra, Secretary, ICAI. The MOU was signed by Secretary, ICAI and Secretary, School Education, Mizoram.
Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, IAS, Secretary, School Education Department, Mizoram appreciated the initiatives taken by institute for the students of the State of Mizoram and requested ICAI to run special drive for the Financial Literacy in the state to create awareness about the knowledge of finance, tax, banking etc, for which the department of education will work jointly with ICAI and provide its whole support for promoting the commerce education and chartered accountancy course in the State.
The compliments and the congratulations from the President CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra and the Vice-President CA. Aniket Sunil Talati were expressed during the progamme with their wish to have more number of students and members from the State of Mizoram in the years to come with the support of Career Counselling Committee of ICAI.
The event was attended by members of the Profession, students undergoing Chartered Accountancy Course and the Principals and Headmasters of Schools and the Media.
