Navigating Global Markets: India Launches “INSIGHT” to Empower MSME Exporters

The roadmap for Indian exporters just got a major digital and strategic upgrade. On February 20, 2026, the government officially unveiled the Integrated Support for Trade Intelligence & Facilitation (INSIGHT).

Operating under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) – NIRYAT DISHA, this initiative is designed to bridge the gap between local manufacturing and global market success. If you are an MSME owner or a budding exporter, this program is built specifically to solve your most common “information” headaches.

What is INSIGHT?

The INSIGHT intervention is a forward-thinking support system aimed at removing the “procedural friction” that often stops small businesses from going global. It focuses on four key pillars:

  • Export Capacity & Skill Development: Moving beyond basic training to offer advanced knowledge on emerging trends in international trade.
  • District & Cluster-Level Facilitation: Bringing expert counseling and institutional support directly to your local industrial hubs and district associations.
  • Trade Intelligence & Analytics: Providing access to high-level data, digital knowledge platforms, and market analytics to help you make data-driven decisions.
  • Research & Innovation: Funding pilot projects and research studies to identify new ways to make Indian products more competitive worldwide.

How Can Your Business Benefit?

The goal of NIRYAT DISHA is to ensure that no exporter is left behind due to a lack of information. By participating in the INSIGHT program, businesses can gain:

  1. Market Readiness: Understand exactly what international buyers want before you ship.
  2. Strategic Support: Access to decision-support platforms that simplify complex trade regulations.
  3. Local Expertise: Benefit from outreach programs designed for your specific industry cluster.

The government has opened specific portals for different areas of support. If you are involved in trade research, capacity building, or analytics, you can apply through the following channels:

Have Your Say

This intervention is currently in its pilot phase. The government is actively seeking feedback from the exporter community to refine the system. Stakeholders are invited to submit suggestions or comments within 30 days (by March 22, 2026) to epm-dgft@gov.in.

The Bottom Line: INSIGHT isn’t just a policy; it’s a toolkit for the modern exporter. By turning “Trade Intelligence” into a shared resource, India is making the global marketplace more accessible for everyone.
