Review of Circulars Issued under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999

As part of the Reserve Bank’s continuous efforts to streamline and simplify the regulatory framework under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA), a comprehensive review has been conducted of circulars issued from June 1, 2000 onwards. Following this review, the circulars specified in the Annex have been identified as no longer effective due to subsequent regulatory changes, duplication, redundancy, or replacement by updated instructions. Accordingly, these circulars stand withdrawn.

Authorised Persons are advised to communicate the contents of this circular to all concerned customers and stakeholders.

This circular is issued in exercise of the powers conferred under Sections 10(4) and 11(1) of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (42 of 1999). The provisions of this circular are without prejudice to any approvals, permissions, or compliances that may be required under any other applicable law.
