Temporary disruption of e-invoice services from 31 October

GST Portal Advisory: Temporary Disruption of e-Invoice Services from 31 October to 1 November 2026

The GST portal has announced a temporary interruption of selected e-Invoice services due to planned infrastructure maintenance.

The maintenance window is scheduled as follows:

  • Commencement: 31 October 2026, at 9:00 AM IST
  • Expected completion: 1 November 2026, at 1:00 PM IST

Services Likely to Be Impacted

During the scheduled maintenance period, the following functionalities may be unavailable:

  1. e-Invoice data processing and retrieval: Access to e-Invoice information received from Invoice Registration Portals (IRPs) may be disrupted.
  2. Auto-population in GSTR-1: Automatic transfer of e-Invoice details to Form GSTR-1 may be temporarily affected.
  3. e-Invoice JSON downloads: Downloading e-Invoice data in JSON format through the GST portal or APIs may not be possible.

What Should Taxpayers Do?

Businesses, tax professionals and other GST stakeholders should plan their e-Invoice-related activities in advance to minimise disruption. Where feasible, taxpayers should complete necessary data retrieval and downloads before the maintenance window begins.

The affected services are expected to become operational again after the scheduled upgrade is completed.

The inconvenience caused to taxpayers is regretted.
