Amendment in Import Policy for Umbrellas – CIF-Based Restriction

Amendment in Import Policy for Umbrellas under ITC (HS) 2022 – Introduction of CIF-Based Restriction – Notification No. 57 / 2025-26
S.O. (E): In exercise of the powers conferred under Sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amends the import policy and policy conditions for the following HS codes under Chapter 66 of Schedule-I (Import Policy) of ITC (HS) 2022:
1. Revised Import Policy

2. Exemption from Minimum Import Price (MIP)
The Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition shall not apply to imports made by:
- Advance Authorisation holders
- Export Oriented Units (EOUs)
- Units located in Special Economic Zones (SEZs)
Condition: Such imported goods shall not be sold in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA).
Effect of the Notification
- Import policy for finished umbrellas under HS Codes 66019100 and 66019900 is changed from Free to Restricted.
- However, imports will remain Free where the CIF value is ₹100 or more per piece.
- Advance Authorisation holders, EOUs, and SEZ units are exempt from MIP, subject to non-sale in DTA.
