Amendment of Aggregate Annual Turnover for FY 2025-26

GSTN Revises Timeline for Amendment of Aggregate Annual Turnover (AATO) for FY 2025-26
The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has revised the schedule for amending the Aggregate Annual Turnover (AATO) for the financial year 2025-26. The change comes as part of a system enhancement that will allow the GST Portal to automatically update AATO whenever subsequent GST returns are filed after the amendment process.
Earlier, taxpayers could modify their AATO during the month of May, in line with the advisory issued in 2022. However, with the rollout of the upgraded functionality from 1 July 2026, the amendment window has been shifted to July.
Revised AATO Amendment Schedule for FY 2025-26
| Activity | Revised Timeline |
|---|---|
| AATO amendment window for taxpayers | 1 July 2026 to 31 July 2026 |
| Verification by jurisdictional Tax Officer | 1 August 2026 to 15 August 2026 |
Purpose of the Revision
The revised timeline supports the implementation of new system features aimed at:
- Automatically updating AATO after subsequent return filings.
- Improving consistency of turnover data across different GST Portal modules.
- Enhancing accuracy and reducing discrepancies in taxpayer records.
- Streamlining the verification process for tax authorities.
What Taxpayers Should Do
Taxpayers should carefully review their Aggregate Annual Turnover before submitting any amendment request. Since the amended figures will be verified by the jurisdictional tax officer, it is important to ensure that the information provided is complete and accurate.
If any technical issue or difficulty is encountered while using the facility, taxpayers should submit a grievance through the GST Portal’s Self-Service Portal, providing all relevant details to enable timely resolution.
