Exposure Drafts of ICAI Valuation Standards, 2026

ICAI Invites Public Comments on Exposure Drafts of ICAI Valuation Standards, 2026 – Submit Suggestions by 22 November 2026
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), through its Insolvency, Bankruptcy and Valuation Standards Board (IB and VSB), has invited comments, suggestions and feedback from professionals and other stakeholders on the Exposure Drafts of the ICAI Valuation Standards, 2026.
Valuation is an important component of financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency proceedings, corporate restructuring and several other financial and commercial transactions. Maintaining consistency, transparency and reliability in valuation practices is therefore essential to ensure credible and well-supported valuation outcomes.
With a view to establishing uniformity and improving the quality of valuation practices, ICAI constituted the Valuation Standards Board (VSB) during 2017-18. The Board subsequently developed the ICAI Valuation Standards, 2018, along with supporting guidance and technical publications to assist professionals in their practical application.
Considering developments in valuation methodologies, changes in the regulatory environment and evolving international practices, ICAI has undertaken a comprehensive review and revision of the existing standards. The exercise also takes into account stakeholder feedback, relevant International Valuation Standards and the requirements of India’s legal and regulatory framework.
As part of this revision exercise and to encourage wider professional participation, ICAI has released the following Exposure Drafts of the proposed ICAI Valuation Standards, 2026 for public consultation:
