ICAI Issues Clarification on False Social Media Claims Regarding Data Security

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued a clarification in response to certain social media posts alleging that members’, students’, and examination-related data have been compromised.

According to ICAI, these allegations are entirely incorrect and have no factual basis. The Institute has confirmed that there has been no unauthorized access, data breach, or compromise involving members’ records, students’ information, or examination data.

ICAI stated that the circulation of such misleading content has created unnecessary concern among students, members, and other stakeholders. The Institute has urged everyone not to rely on unverified information shared through social media or other unofficial sources.

Reaffirming its commitment to information security, ICAI emphasized that it has implemented robust data protection measures and security systems to safeguard confidential information. The Institute continues to maintain stringent standards for protecting the integrity and confidentiality of its digital records.

ICAI has advised students, members, and all stakeholders to disregard rumours and misinformation and to rely exclusively on announcements and updates released through its official communication channels for accurate and authentic information.
