Important Update for Taxpayers: Upcoming Enhancements to GST System Security

To strengthen data protection and ensure greater transparency, the GST system is introducing new features aimed at safeguarding taxpayer interactions, especially through Application Suvidha Providers (ASPs). These enhancements also provide more visibility and control over data access permissions.

Key Changes Coming Soon:

1. Alerts on OTP-Based Data Access via ASPs

Whenever a taxpayer authorizes an ASP to access GST data using an OTP, the system will now send an alert via email and/or SMS to the taxpayer’s authorized signatory. This message will include:

  • Name of the ASP and its associated GST Suvidha Provider (GSP)
  • Date and time of OTP-based consent
  • Duration for which the access is valid

This step ensures that taxpayers are always informed about who is accessing their data and when.

2. Dashboard View and Consent Management

The GST portal will soon include a new feature that allows taxpayers to:

  • View the history and current status of access granted to ASPs/GSPs
  • Revoke any active consent directly from their dashboard

This empowers taxpayers to monitor and manage third-party access to their GST data easily and effectively.

The implementation dates for these features will be communicated through official GST advisories.
